The process of the work in this WQ can be made only in one language, although, in fact, the process gains its global meaning if the students do all the activities arisen in the other webquests, because the four ones we present here (in Basque, Spanish, French and English) are part of a material prepared to work together in the Program of an Integrated Treatment of Languages.

The chosen genre for the creation of these WQ has been the narrative and each WQ focuses on a different subgenre. In the case of the English and French the final product is the informal letter.

The process must be carefully explained to the students, so that they could feel the necessity to link their productions in the different languages and each one aims at being an integrated part of their story or tale.

All the teachers involved in the project must coordinate their work, set the timing and the way to face the activities in the different processes, in order to teach efficiently.

If the task results too difficult due to the features of the class group or any other factor, the different WQs could be carried out separately, although the aim is to make profitable the learning of the narrative text acquired by the students in the different languages.

Timing: 4 or 5 lessons

  • It would be interesting to coordinate the Activity 3 with another school. In that case each informal letter will have a real recipient, that is, another student of the same age.
